A trip to Osnabrück’s Ice-skating Center with the 8th graders

2022 03 EishalleOn the 11th of March 2022 the whole 8th grade met at 7:45 a.m. at Cloppenburg’s train station to ride by busses to the ice-rink in Osnabrück. After everybody had arrived, the teachers organized things like the presence and the Corona-tests of the 160 students. After finishing this tricky task, all of the students and teachers went into three different busses. On their way to Osnabrück, the students listened to music, talked to their friends or some even slept to bridge the bus journey. Towards the end of the journey one of the busses, to be precise the bus with the students of the 8g, got lost somewhere in OS. Fortunately the driver managed to get back on track quickly.

When all the busses finally arrived at 9:45 a.m., all of the students went into the ice-rink. Most of the students had to borrow ice-skates, because they didn’t have their own ones, but a couple of students brought their own. The first students then went onto the ice at about 10 a.m.

Ice-skating was fun for most of them, but a few people sat on the benches next to the ice in order to watch the others. On the ice the students had to take care of each other, because some students weren’t all too good at it and fell over a few times, but no one got seriously hurt.

After some time on the ice, a couple of students bought food like fries, others preferred drinks and snacks they had brought from home. The atmosphere was really relaxed and the students had much fun while they were ice-skating with music in the background. Just before departure the classes took photos to capture the amazing experience. Then the students got off the ice and went back to the busses to ride home to Cloppenburg. The busses arrived there at the train station just before 1 p.m. and the trip was over.

All in all, this trip was hopefully only one part of the compensation for the cancelled trip to Tulfes, which all of us would have loved to experience so much.
